I had a Fan problem with my Heater.

I had a Problem with my Fan in my Saxon Wood Heater.

The Problem i had was the barrel, in my barrel fan. It traveled form side to side making a terrible noise
when the fan was running at high speed or low speed after some time of putting up with the noise
i made some Phone calls and found out how much a replacement unit would be, so if all went bad i knew i could buy a replacement.

I decided to have a go at fixing my fan, this is how i fixed my fan.

  • I unplugged the fan from the power (This is a must) ELECTRICITY BITES & CAN KILL
  • I Removed the Fan from my Heater & wrote down the wire color & positions of the wires on the switch
  • The Transformer rotates anti clockwise to release the barrel from the Transformer
  • I got two small cable tie's and placed them on the shaft that turns the barrel of the fan
  • I placed the fan back together and moved the barrel by hand to see if the cable tie's needed adjusting to see if the barrel would hit the side wall or would scrap on any thing at all
  • i placed the fan back in my heater and gave it a test run

There were a few noises but i can live with that, we had our fire running for a few days & Our fan passed with flying colors and is still running strong today.
